TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology (Clinical and Organisational) in 1997. Two postgraduate courses in Clinical and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy for Adults, Children and Families (PGDip) undertaken at the Comillas University in Madrid gave me a deeper insight into the human being, the role of the unconscious mind and the importance of the motivational systems in our internal world and how we manage our lives.

The experience of working for 15 years in Human Resources Management in both private and public sectors has contributed to my understanding of this aspect of life, and the effect it has on the person from the first job to retirement and all the challenges that people may face in the work environment.

Further professional training at the Tavistock Clinic in London provided me with extensive knowledge in the treatment of eating disorders and dysmorphia, adolescence, and couples´ therapy.

I have been passionately researching neurodivergence and in particular Autism for the past decade. I have had the privilege of working with adolescents and adults in educational and therapeutic settings. This, together with robust training to comply with the NICE and best practice requirements (fully ADI-R trained), have made me confident in pursuing my interest in Adult Autism Assessments. It is by doing these, that my perception of equality and the reality of the society we live in has been transformed.

My training and experience in Affirmative Psychology allows me to accompany and support members of minority groups with their challenges in social barriers and mental health.

Following the pandemic years and the complexity of its consequences I became interested and underwent further training in bereavement and the multiple losses that we all experience throughout our lives.

In my therapy sessions I use an integrative approach tailored to suit your needs. I am confident working collaboratively and sharing my experience in CBT, ACT, CFT, MBCT, Affirmative Psychology and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. My sessions are relaxed, respectful and focused on the understanding and managing challenges, at your own pace.

ABOUT ME

In my years of working in therapy I have always aimed to utilise my academic knowledge and personal experience of being a mother, a daughter, a partner, a friend, and a colleague. I have used these resources and a lot of my energy to help people through their difficult times.

Psychology and supporting others have always been my real passions and I still enjoy being the eternal student. Currently I strive to live a healthy, active life; I love spending time with my family, supporting them with their challenges, meeting with friends, going for walks and exercising. The consistent practice of  meditation is the key to my feeling present, and managing any difficulties that may arise.

I am fully committed to supporting the values that promote diversity in all human dimensions. I proudly stand as an to individuals with learning and physical difficulties, neurodivergent, and LGBTQ+ communities.
